BEAUTIFUL VINEYARD WEDDING WITH A FIRST LOOK AT COSSARS WINESHED
Nearly four years ago, I interviewed Kate for the remaining room in our Auckland flat. Lance was the new boyfriend on the scene and they were clearly head of heels for each other. I never thought years later that I'd be photographing the wedding and that it would be this damn beautiful! So so so happy for the new Mr & Mrs Talbot! Their wedding was an absolute fairytale at the beautiful Cossars Wineshed in Christchurch. It could not have been more perfect, including a rather risqué end to the night! FIRST LOOK
Kate and Lance choose to get married in Kate’s hometown of Christchurch, New Zealand. Her parents being winemakers themselves, it made perfect sense for them to tie the knot at Cossars Wineshed, a beautiful wedding venue, nestled in the outskirts of Christchurch. They chose to include a first look in their day in order to keep the afternoon free to spend as much time as possible with their guests. This plan worked perfectly due to Kate’s amazing organisation and her awesome wedding vendors all playing their part. Lance was blown away when he turned to find Kate in her Stella York dress from Felicitys Bridal. It was such a special moment and they loved being able to spend that time together before the ceremony. It completely relaxed them into the day and we got some gorgeous pre-wedding photographs.

“Where do I start!? Cushla is an incredible lady and we are so happy we had her capture our big day! She was great at communicating in the lead up, made us feel so comfortable infront of the camera and was great fun - she felt like one of the bridal party rather than a vendor! We have had heaps of compliments from our guests on how Cushla moved around catching candid moments and have had so many comments on how amazing the pictures are! Cossars Winehsed offers mutiple options for where you can have your ceremony around the venue. Kate and Lance chose to have theirs nestled in the vines and this spot is stunning to say the least! It was 30degrees by the time we got to the 3pm ceremony (and my god it felt it!) I captured Kate cooling off just before heading down the aisle with a cold lemonade and her legs out - Bride-chilla she certainly was!
COCKTAIL HOUR & BRIDAL PARTY PHOTOGRAPHS
The Cossars Wineshed Courtyard is beautifully set up for cocktail hour. They served literally the best canapes I’ve ever had in my life and the guests could mingle in the shade after a hot sunny ceremony. The bridal party and I managed to sneak off for half an hour and get some group photos around the property - there really is no reason to leave!
THE PARTY
Cossars Wineshed has a very cute wedding tradition - their very own love-lock wall! After writing on their padlock and locking it, they threw the key in the pond and are bound like all the other lovely couples on this wall. The rest of the night included an epic bouquet toss, delicious food and an awesome cake!Their guests danced their socks off - and some of them, their shirts! (Rugby boys will be rugby boys - see the epic end of night photo below!)
THE END
It was a fairy tale day with a modern twist of an ending - and I loved every second! Cossars Wineshed has proved to be possibly my favourite wedding venue in Christchurch and I’ll be back soon! If you’re planning your Christchurch wedding, I’d love to hear from you!
