THE COLOURFUL DIY FESTIVAL WEDDING WITH EPIC VIEWS

Dorrie and Ben are two of the loveliest people I’ve ever met. Through a mutual friend, we were introduced and really clicked via email (pun intended!) I made the trip up to meet them at the start of the summer, and gosh what a beautiful place they live! The Peak District is absolutely stunning. If you haven’t been, pack your bags and go now! It really reminded me of New Zealand, but with cute english cottages scattered throughout the rolling hills. After getting a glimpse of the surroundings and confirming that Ben and Dorrie were in fact, awesome, I was pretty excited to be a part of their big day!

GIRLS GETTING READY

You know when you were in your early twenties, going out with the girls every weekend, and getting ready together always ended up to be the most fun part of the night? Well that’s what the morning of Dorrie’s wedding felt like. With eight beautiful and equally fun bridesmaids, it was a gorgeous morning filled with girly chit chat and good music.

SHOW TIME!

Ben and Dorrie both work in events, so it’s no surprise they pulled off an epic DIY festival wedding with a headcount of 200. They did all the decorations themselves, not to mention pitching a massive festival wedding tent and making a beautiful outdoor alter. Dorries bridemaids walked down the aisle in pairs, which I thought was really nice! They colour coordinated in their pairs and made a beautiful palette of autumnal bridesmaids dresses - amazing! theor good friend officiated the wedding and made it the relaxed hilarious and sentimental ceremony it was.

BRIDAL PARTY AND COUPLE PORTRAITS :

Seen as they had organised such an epic day for their guests, Ben and Dorrie and didn’t want to be away from the action for long. We took some quick couple portraits around the land and then Dorrie and her girls took me on a little adventure! I do love a good girly portrait session and we managed to get cute natural wedding photographs as well as what we like to call the ‘Sexy Barn Session’ - scroll down and you’ll see!

THE PARTY:

This festival wedding certainly lived up to it’s name! The speeches were a mixture of hilarious and emotional. Everyone had a big laugh and little cry and it became apparent just how loved these tow are by their friends and family. The band was epic - a twelve-piece band of fabulous talent, and the dancing was on point! Everyone had an amazing time and I loved capturing their moves.

THE STREETS OF LONDON:

I loved this DIY Festival Wedding so much! The colours, the decor, the music and most importantly the people, made it absolutely fabulous.

Having a Festival Wedding? I love a good shindig and would love to be a part of your big day!
